Communication is the most important part of an individually appropriate care plan. The main barriers have been time constraints and knowledge base of were to get the information required to complete the care. Computer technology is a fast and holistic system that aids the nurse in accessing the resources in an appropriate and timely manner. The new computer based medication delivery systems and charting systems that are being utilized in hospitals now have aided in ease of documentation, and monitoring of client care. The barriers before technological advances have been accurate documentation at the time of delivering care. Now, the information is accessible to all health care providers associated with the client, and allows a holistic overview at the touch of a keypad.
